Italian Beef Sandwiches..........Lesley Pappa


 

Ingredients:
 
3 lb. rump roast
1 onion
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
====================following are used 2nd day===============
1/2 tsp. onion salt
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp. seasoning salt
 
 
 

Instructions:
 
Place roast, onions, salt and pepper in roaster - fill with water halfway up roast.
Cover, roast at 350 degrees for 2 hours.
Transfer all to covered container, refrigerate overnight.
Next day - trim fat - slice very thin - strain liquid.
Add remaining seasonings - bring to boil.
Place slices of beef in layers in casserole.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or simmer on stove top.
Serve on rolls.
