Ingredients:
1/2 lb. margarine, softened 6 eggs 1 1/3 cup sugar 1 tbl. vanilla
extract 1 tbl. almond extract 1 tbl. anise extract 1/2 cup anisette liquor 6-7 cups flour 3 heaping tsp. baking
powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 egg - beaten
Instructions:
In large bowl, beat margarine, sugar, eggs, all 3 extracts, baking powder and salt. Add
6 cups of flour 1 at a time gradually, alternating with anisette liquor. Turn onto floured board and knead well.
Add flour until dough loses stickiness. Form
into 6 or 7 flattened loaves. Brush tops with beaten egg. Bake on un-greased cookie sheets for 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees. While
hot, slice diagonally, turn pieces on side and bake another 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
